I wondered about this. She said it was a body double so everyone reported on it as such.
But this was literally right as her career was starting out. Why would a studio ask for a nude scene, hire an unknown actress who wasn't going to go nude then pay extra money for a body double? A no-namer who wouldn't want to go nude wouldn't have even been hired. I wonder if she actually went nude then told people that?
A write-up told it like this: she was under contract to be nude and had signed. But as a religious girl, she was worried people she knew would see the boobs and spout their nonsense about her not being an upright proper Christian, but a harlot blah blah. So the director made a compromise with her. Do the scene but say it was a body double to save her the hassle. "Body double" was apparently credited in the film but doesn't exist on IMDB or anywhere. As a side note: Has NO ONE seen those red carpet photos of her in that very see-through green dress with no bra? Compare her boobs with the "body double"'s. If it is indeed a body double, then Jessica herself led the search for an identical torso.
@wawawee - you're right about the timing, this film was shot before she became famous in Dark Angel, but wasn't released until afterwards. She might have been nude during filming, but then used the "body double" trick once she was popular.

At least this body double resembles Alba, unlike in "Jason's Lyric" where the double looks NOTHING like Jada and doesn't even seem comfortable in the scene.
The only female body doubles that work are Ruth Wilson's in "The Affair" and Dominique Swain's in "Lolita." The latter was only a success because most of the scenes with the double had to be cut, the only time in UK history that censorship has had a positive effect on a work of art. Swain's hand double was rubbish and should have been cut too.
