Meet Céline Marie Claudette Dion, born March 30, 1968, a Canadian singer and businesswoman who’s been crushin’ it in the music industry. Hailing from a big family in Charlemagne, Quebec, she blew up as a teen in the French-speaking scene after her manager and future hubby, René Angélil, bet it all by mortgaging his house to fund her first record. She caught the world’s eye in the ‘80s, snaggin’ wins at the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival and the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest reppin’ Switzerland. After droppin’ French albums, she inked a deal with Epic Records in the U.S. and put out her first English album, Unison, in 1990, cementin’ her as a pop star in North America and beyond.
