Diane “DeDe” Gayle Lind, born in ’47 and passed in 2020, was a glamour model and Playmate who lit up the 1960s with her nude spreads in Playboy. At just 14, she got spotted by photographer Leon Beauchemin at a Burbank, California pool, landin’ her two Teen magazine covers. She snagged small parts on The Donna Reed Show and Leave It to Beaver, plus a few TV commercials.
Right after high school at 17, DeDe married her sweetheart, moved to San Diego, and had a son, but the marriage fizzled after a year. Her buddy Leon convinced her to try out for Playboy, and at 18, she became the August 1967 Playmate of the Month, shot by Mario Casilli. Fans went wild, sendin’ a record-breaking pile of mail, makin’ her one of the ’60s most-loved Playmates.
Fun fact: her shoot had a Coca-Cola bottle, but Pepsi fan Hugh Hefner made them redo it with a Pepsi bottle instead. After her Playboy fame, teen modelin’ gigs dried up, but the spread opened new doors. She modeled for some European mags but mostly chilled, turnin’ down work to focus on herself.
In the ’70s, DeDe remarried and stayed tight with Playboy, hittin’ up events, parties, and movie nights at the Playboy Mansion. She popped up in the December 1979 Playmates Forever issue and the early ’80s Playmate Playoffs special. Her Playboy vids included Race Horses and a full-frontal yacht shoot, keepin’ her legacy alive.
