"Network" is praised for being prophetic about the media, but Faye Dunaway's Diana is one of the most prophetic characters of my lifetime. That film predicted, through her, the social emergence of a layer of soulless upper-middle-class bitches as a lethally dangerous force. We see them in the corporate world. We see them in politics and the legal sphere. Such women have stood for president. One of the representatives of my county is just such a woman. Remember how Kyle Reese described the T-800? That's them.
