PLAYBOY used to pull this bait-and-switch so many times. They'd put a celebrity on the cover and people would think "Oo, Raquel Welch nude!" Only to discover, after they'd bought it, there was no nudity, just some glamour teasing (if that).

Looking at you, Jessica Alba, Dolly Parton, Janet Jones, etc...

Yeah, this was in the early 90s when Playboy was being "played" by several B-grade starlets' publicists for "sexy" (i.e. non-nude) photoshoots. Janet Jones was another around the same time. But Jessica Alba was the pubescent (underage) star of the "New Flipper" TV show back then. I know because I was watching her. And if you expected a Dolly Parton cover to mean there were nudes inside, you were dreaming.

Sexy or not, you know how many times she hit Jack with that swinging kitchen door! And don't get me started on the ironing board. So clumsy!

Yeah, but this was also before FHM, Maxim, Stuff, Perfect 10 magazines entered the scene. And it was usually the hottest pics at the time that the actresses took. I'd say about 2 out of 5 of these were no nude, but clingy or see-through, nip slips, etc. There were a lot of celebrity nude pictorials that usually came 2 or 3 times a year around the Nov-Dec issues back in the old days.
